As a young child, Michael spent many weekends working with his Dad at Paterson Papers. During his High School years, he branched out by working for a local print shop, which gave him exposure outside of Paterson Papers and insight into the printing business. Michael graduated from Miami University of Ohio, where his college degree was tailored for a career in the paper industry.

While learning the paper business he gained an old-fashioned work ethic known to all the employees at Paterson Papers. To this day, Michael would not ask anything of an employee that he would not do himself. He can be found filling in for anyone at any time.

Now, as the President of Paterson Papers he has many added responsibilities. It is not sufficient to just know the business inside and out. Relationships with vendors, customers and employees all must meld to make the business run smoothly and go forward. Keeping everyone happy is a daily challenge. Michael has good listening and negotiating skills and he always thinks about both sides of the situation before responding. For all these reasons, Paterson Papers has many loyal and long-term employees.

Along with all his responsibilities at Paterson Papers, Michael always saves energy and time for his busy family. And with time and experience he has learned to "Seize the Moment."
