My name is Genie Prell Weisz. As the youngest child of the owner of a fine paper merchant (Paterson Papers), I have been involved with paper since my childhood. I remember weekends spent putting stickers on swatchbooks and making copies on the Gestetner Mimeograph machine. My first experiences in the labor force were always fun for me…especially when we could use the hole punch machine and make confetti! Since then, things have gotten a bit more serious and instead of moving paper close to the hole punch machine, I am trying to move it out the door to customers.

I received my formal educational training at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Business School. Upon graduation in 1984, I pursued a job opportunity with GTE Corporation's Executive Marketing Training Program. And then a stint in New York City where I followed my dreams into the world of entertainment as an Assistant Talent Agent. After all that, I decided to do something I would "never" do, I chose to work in the family business.

My father, Simon Prell had been eager to take Paterson Papers in a new direction…cash & carry paper stores. So, in 1987, I signed on to create a new, retail division for the company…The Paper Store & more… We opened our first store in our warehouse in 1988 and followed that with 2 more stores, East Hanover (1990) and Kenilworth (1992).

My mission was to stock the store with a HUGE variety of products to fulfill our customers daily printing requirements. And, more importantly, I insisted on hiring the finest sales representatives who were trained in the paper/printing industry while simultaneously demonstrating exceptional customer service skills. Overnight, The Paper Store & more…became a place to shop where you could get your order quickly, accurately and with a "Thank you."

On a final note, people always ask what does the "more" stand for in The Paper Store & more…? Well, it could refer to the non-paper items we sell like ink, graphic chemistry, press wipes or stationery boxes but I like to think it refers to the cup of coffee, friendly greeting and smile you get when you walk through our doors. It is our goal to transfer that same competence and deference to you our website customers who cannot stop by.

Please enjoy your trip through our site and let us know how we can offer you "more…"
